I feel like I should say something momentous after a resounding two year silence on this lj, but I'm drawing a blank. I think most of you who held on so-very-faithfully to this journal over the past couple of years also have in_stead friended, anyway, and probably didn't even notice the lack of my posting here for the volume of my posting there.

Dear reccers --
Thank you all so very, very much! Am going to spend the next few days wallowing in gen (which, when I put it like that, sounds like a rather frustrating experience for a confirmed bachelor slasher such as myself) to find just the perfect handful of stories to pass on to my sister.
(And if I occasionally slip into the gay, sweaty section of Polyamorous, as graycastle suggested, surely no one could blame me -- right?)
So, once again, thank you. And I'm sure my sister will thank you, too, when she realises that a whole world of extra-cannonical adventure awaits her beyond the boundries of fanfic.net.

Right, taters, I need recs. Harry Potter recs. But -- and here, I think, is the challenging bit for most of you -- I need non-porny, non-slashy recs.
I am attempting to guide my sister off of fanfic.net and into the broader world of fanfic, see. And I don't think she, but especially not I, am ready to have sweaty gay fic thrown into her face.

1In part because the friend I was supposed to go out with tonight went "WHAAAAA?
